| Yes! I'm officially done with my undergraduate education at UCI! I got a lot out of UCI, and I'm glad my diploma will say I got a degree in Neurobiology, hehe. The next 5 months I have off before dental school starts should be GREAT. And then the next chapter in my life will begin and everything will change because I'll be attending Tufts University School of Dental Medicine for the next 4 years of my life.... yeah Boston here I come! So what will I do with those 5 months? Other than going to Thailand & Vietnam for 6 weeks in the summer, I'll just be a bum for once in my life and play it by ear, hehe. | | |

| so new year's was fun i would say. my dad's side of the family came over to my house. then 4 of my cousins slept over which was a rare event. 2 of us in my room, 2 in my brother's room, and 2 in the guest room downstairs. none of us went to bed until 4:30-5AM. the next day, which was new year's day, we all headed to the mall and i was able to get a scarf from old navy for $4 and sunglass from AE for half off. wee!
today, my family and i were suppose to check out the post-rose bowl parade floats in pasadena but didn't. we came to the realization that since last night there were major heavy winds that the $7 admission per person and $3/person for park & ride or whatever wasn't worth it. we were also gonna go with my aunt, uncle, and my cousins claire (age 3) and dylan (age 4) so to get the kiddies out of the house we all decided to meet up and hang around downtown disney instead. i <3 my cousins! i was also suppose to go to seaworld with them tomorrow too, but it got cancelled/postponed due to something coming up. aw, i was actually looking forward to seaworld! oh well.
oh yeah, i haven't mentioned it on here yet but i got another interview and it's at tufts university school of dental medicine in boston. i had also had one scheduled at boston university in march, but was able to reschedule it the day after my tufts interview. so my tufts and bu interviews will be on feb 1 and 2, respectively..... so i'll be spending jan. 31-feb. 3 in boston! yay! i'm so excited since i've never been to boston! =)
so yeah, classes start up again on monday. ew. i need to also get all this immunization crap done since apparently they started new rules on what immunizations people who do clinical research need. bah, humbug! alright, that's it for today.

| i'm sorry i've been too busy to give an update on how my cousin has been doing. so after days and days of just tests, he turned out that he only bruised his pancreas. what happened was that he fell off the monkey bars and fell down stomach first onto another set of bars lower on the ground (ouch!). so he's doing just fine now and just needed time to heal and not to play too rough for awhile.
yesterday on xmas day, we celebrated xmas at my house. everyone on my mom's side came, even my aunt, uncle and cousins who moved to Houston last summer. except my cousins from AZ, though. my aunt and uncle were the ones who graduated dental school last year and decided to move with their 3 boys to Houston to work for my uncle's sister-in-law since she has numerous dental offices. they are currently building their own office and should be done in January. apparently they are doing really well b/c gave each of us a "benjamin franklin" and my grandpa a hefty check for xmas, haha. my 10-year-old cousin had a funny way of putting it and was like, "hey! i got a 1, with 2 zero place holders!" lol, what a nerd, but i gotta love him! and they're also treating us all out dinner tonight at any restaurant we what (aka the "best"). all i was thinking was "geez, you can throw money around like that even with all those student loans?! and for TWO people!?" lol. tonight, he even took us all out to dinner for some sushi! omg, i LOVE sushi! it was sooo good! we've been to this sushi place at least 5 times as a huge family. that place has really made soo much money of our family that they should totally name a sushi roll after us. we concluded that it that were to happen, it should be called the "chu-chu tran roll," lol. get it? the family name is chu, and we are tran's so it's like choo-choo train. HAHA, yeah, we're cool like that, lol.
but yeah, xmas was really fun with everyone at my house. and we have yet to still celebrate xmas on my dad's side. that'll take place on new year's eve. weird, i know, but it's hard scheduling a date in which everyone can make it with such a big family. this week has flown by so fast. i can't believe 2.5 weeks of winter break has already gone by! oh no, make it go slower! or better yet, make it loooonger! i can't believe it was 1 year ago that we were in vietnam for winter break. how i miss it. it was so much fun. anyhoo, that's it for this entry. until next time, adios!
